Beckon your inner artist and learn about the art of glass at Peter Patterson Glassworks. Take a glassblowing class, watch a demo or shop the studio. Nearby is Mundelein's Park Street Craft Kitchen and Bar to discover some Peruvian dishes that will become your new favorites. Across the street is Tony Cannoli for made-to-order cannoli desserts. Enjoy dining al-fresco on Park Street's outdoor dining area. For those wanting a Lake County Libation Trail experience, visit Mundelein’s own award-winning Tighthead Brewing Company and Bosacki’s Brewery.

Unique, charming and quaint is how you can describle what's  around the corner, down the road...head to the Lake County Fairgrounds & Event Center in Grayslake, where there is always something special going on. Not only known for hosting the county fair (coming July 30), they have antique, crafts, RV, boating, home and other weekend shows throughout the year.

Head to the Dunn Museum, showcasing local history of Lake County, and interactive and traveling exhibits, including the oldest artifact, a fossil rock estimated to be 420 million years old. Learn more about the dinosaurs that lived in Lake County, and get up close and personal with our very own Dryptosaurus (kids: helpp excavate a dig site!).

Lunch brings so many options for your taste buds from pancakes, Greek, Italian, American, small bites, big bites, and plenty of outdoor diningWaukegan Harbor seasonally. This premier forest preserve has a little bit for everyone – trails for walking and biking, boating, birdwatching and serenity sitting by the 110-acre lake with beautiful native plants and flowers.

Take a trek to Lake County’s furthest part north, charming downtown Antioch. Boutiques, one-of-a-kinds, antiques, a movie theatre, playhouse, old-time candy shop, restaurants and more, await. Visit the historic Hiram Buttrick Sawmill, one of Lake County’s most-popular photo stops. Boat rentals along the nearby Chain O’Lakes get you to the on the water, and Blarney Island in the center of Grass Lake, has adult beverages, live music and speedboat races. You can also take a boat shuttle and grab a great bite to eat at Port of Blarney before heading to the island. Winter brings the popular Kringle’s Christmas Village, with over-sized shadow boxes brimming with holiday scenes, and Dickens Holiday Village, for a whimsical public art display of classic Dickens characters.
