The Village of Grayslake, established in 1895, is located in central Lake County, approximately forty miles north of Chicago and fourteen miles west of Lake Michigan. Grays Lake, a 78 acre recreational lake, is located within the Village. This is one of Lake County's oldest communities and features the Grayslake Heritage Center - a museum showcasing the history of the area.
