Butterflies & Blooms at Chicago Botanic Gardens

Immerse yourself in a habitat filled with live butterflies. The 2,800-square-foot mesh enclosure is located on the Regenstein Learning Campus, and is full of colorful species native to South America, Asia, Africa, North America, and even some native to Illinois.

Learn more about the diversity and life cycle of butterflies and moths as you peek through a window into the pupa room, and observe new life emerging. See nature’s palette revealed in the blue morphos, paper kites, starry crackers, buckeyes, and Julia longwings—just to name a few. Moths, including the African moon moth, make an appearance throughout the season as well.

For safety reasons, strollers, tripods, and monopods are not allowed.
