Six Flags Great America Festivals Guide

Don't miss the party at the Looney Tunes amusement park...

When it comes to Six Flags Great America, we expect the coasters, the water rides, the shows, the delectable and nostalgic eats and more. This year, the Gurnee amusement park provides an entire festival schedule.

Whether you're a wascally wabbit, the caped crusader, a coaster junkie or just there for the funnel cake, Six Flags Great America will have a "Merry Melody" for everyone.

Grab your tickets today, as Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor Chicago remain open through Labor Day weekend. As we all know, Six Flags Great America reopens in mid-September for a host of spooks, festivities and more. Let's take a look at the Six Flags Great America festival guide.

50th Anniversary Celebration (June 20-Aug. 9)

Celebrate a milestone 50 years in the making at Six Flags Great America during its 50th Anniversary Celebration, from June 20 to August 9. Experience a summer-long event filled with new attractions, nostalgic throwbacks and special moments honoring five decades of thrills. Enjoy extended park hours, with the park open nightly until 10 p.m., giving guests more time to take in rides, entertainment and all the excitement of this historic celebration.

STAR SPANGLED NIGHTS (JULY 3-4)

Celebrate Independence Day at Six Flags Great America during Star-Spangled Nights presented by M&M’S®, the area’s premier Fourth of July celebration, July 3 and 4. Experience a patriotic spectacle featuring dazzling fireworks, festive music and all-American thrills, from world-class coasters to family fun throughout the park. Spend the day enjoying unforgettable rides, then cap off the night with a can’t-miss fireworks spectacular lighting up the summer sky.

Fright Fest Presented by SNICKERS (TBA)

Prepare for chills and thrills as Fright Fest, sponsored by SNICKERS®, returns to Six Flags Great America on select days. Experience the eerie atmosphere as the park transforms into a haunt-filled haven with zombies and ghouls, offering frightful delights for the entire family by day and spine-tingling scares after nightfall. Explore a myriad of haunted houses and scare zones scattered throughout the park, where every shadow conceals a potential fright, and brace yourself for encounters with creatures of the night unleashed for their nightly rituals—be warned, there's nowhere to hide!

KIDS BOO FEST (TBA)

The kids may walk in the gates saying "Whatever happened to my Transylvania Twist," when entering the Gurnee amusement park. This kid-friendly festival provides a tamer vibe during the Fright Fest Presented by SNICKERS. Your youngsters can saunter through the Trick-or-Treat Trail, navigate through a hay maze, listen to a not-so-scary story, view a Halloween show and bop the streets during the Monster Dance Party. The park encourages you and your goblins ages 13 and under to vamoose by 5 p.m. as the ghouls can be a little intense come nightfall.
