Six Flags Great America Fright Fest presented by SNICKERS®
Enjoying the Frights...

(Last Updated: September 11, 2017)

 Fight Fest presented by SNICKERS

"Darkness falls across the land. The midnight hour is close at hand. Creatures crawl in search of blood, to terrorize y'alls neighborhood."

Six Flags Great America's Fright Fest presented by SNICKERS® has returned. Crypts, ghouls, zombies and everything else Halloween takes over the Gurnee amusement park on select days from September 16-October 31.

The park is run by a satanic creature named Nox who vows to scare the living daylights out of you. Nox and his creepy band of gruesome creatures have awoken from their three-season snooze, and they show no mercy.

The daytime is the best time for younger kids who aren't looking for a big scare. From park opening until 6 p.m., SFGA is all smiles and pumpkins! Dress your little ghouls for a day full of family fun as the Gurnee park also features trick-or-treating trails where they can meet their favorite Looney Tunes characters (also dressed for Halloween)! Youngsters two years old and under receive free entry.

Frights by Night

The night time is the fright time. Once the clock strikes 6 p.m., there are no more friendly ghosts. Zombies, clowns and other ghouls roam the park just waiting for the right moment to terrify you and your friends. Ride all of the Six Flags coasters and be prepared to be joined by a ghoul. This seven-week fest features 15 thrilling coasters, nine themed live shows, six haunted attractions and so much more.

Haunted Attractions

Massacre Medical Center is almost ready for their first patients! Are you ready for #FrightFest?! #NoMercy

Big Top Terror

Located in the County Fair District - this house is no laughing matter. Take a stroll (or a brisk walk if you're a scaredy cat) through this insane circus. Big Top Terror sponsored by M&M's is the clown car that isn't funny.

Situated in the Southwest Territory where scary creatures like the Viper and Raging Bull play, is home to the creepy crawlers. Infestation is where your primitive fears live - those of rats, snakes and insects. Be careful or you may become infested.

Gates of Hell

The Gates of Hell is the home of Nox, ruler of Fright Fest. He has placed his most tortured souls here and challenged them with the task of capturing more souls for his collection. It all takes a turn for the worst in the House of Terror. Enter the Gates of Hell and brace yourself for Fright Fest's largest haunt!

Apocalypse is the refugee camp hiding from the zombie outbreak. Think of the AMC show "Walking Dead" becoming a reality. You may be brave enough to face the Apocalypse, but are you strong enough to make it out uninfected?

Massacre Medical Center

The most contagious patients start to rebel against its staff. The doctors, medical staff and security guards did as much as they could to stop these patients, but they are now held captive. It's a dark time in this hospital, and you have to walk through the aftermath.

Manslaughter Manor

This manor tucked away in the Southwest Hills has a reputation for being cursed. While the house was being built in the late 1960s, there was a ceiling collapse that killed a workman and his apprentice. Their bodies were never found. Since the manor was erected, numerous people have lost their lives in this house. Join investigators to try and see if the house is haunted or cursed.

Live Entertainment

Never before has Six Flags offered so many different live performances during Fright Fest. These shows will leave you howling for more.

Scare Zones

Want to ride X Flight? Gotta make it past the Slasher Circus first!

After 6 p.m., there is no such thing as a leisurely stroll as the terror isn't confined to the haunted attractions. Ghouls are spread all over the Gurnee amusement park to creep and 'greet' you. Here is a list of the scare zones and their locations. Watch your six!

  • Rotten Hill - Southwest Territory
  • An Evil Thirst - Carousel Plaza
  • Dread Haven - Yukon Territory/County Fair Bridge
  • Nightmare Hollow - Hometown Square
  • The Massacre Ball - Orleans Place
  • Slasher Circus - County Fair
  • Aftermath - Yankee Harbor/Yukon Territory Bridge
  • Underworld - Metropolis Plaza **NEW**
  • Forbidden Forest - Yukon Territory
  • Henchman Alley - Mardi Gras/Yankee Harbor Bridge

During Fright Fest, these usually tamed rides come out and show their true colors. Here's a list of the rides that have been transformed for the Gurnee fest.

  • Hometown Fun Machine
  • Whizzer
  • Six Saints Cemetery
  • Fiddler's Fling
  • Demon
  • Rue Le Dodge
  • Giant Drop of Doom
  • Revolution
  • Ricochet
  • Condor
  • River Rocker
  • Terror Twister 2: A Turn for the Worse
