Mellody Farm celebrates fall with its annual Harvest Festival, a full day of live entertainment, seasonal activities, food and drink, pet-friendly events, shopping and giveaways. Daytime activities are free and open to the public. Tickets are required for Harvest Festival Bites & Sips and Bourbon & Bonfires, which begin at 4 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Hawthorn School District PTO, and Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa sponsors the event.

Festival Highlights:

• Harvest Haul, 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.: Pick up a card at check-in and visit participating retailers, restaurants and activities. Complete at least eight stops to receive a free fall-themed item, while supplies last, and be entered to win prizes, including a two-night family getaway to Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa.
• Agriculture & Urban Farm Zone, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Explore agriculture, gardening and sustainability with local partners, including a free Winterizing Your Garden Workshop from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
• Fall Fun, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Enjoy face painting, balloon artists, seasonal characters and fall photo opportunities throughout the property.
• Yappy Hour presented by Lazy Dog, 1 to 2 p.m.: Bring your dog for a pet costume contest, giveaways and a PAWS Chicago adoption event.
• Harvest Festival Bites & Sips, 4 to 8 p.m. (ticket required): Sample seasonal food and drinks at six stations featuring Mellody Farm restaurants.
• Bourbon & Bonfires, 4 to 8 p.m. (ticket required): Gather around the fire pits for bourbon tastings and flights with Aged in Oak.
• Live Music, starting at 4 p.m.: Free performance by Big Boss and the Toes.
