Route 66 Centennial Presentation in Gurnee

2026 marks the centennial of the most storied road in America: Route 66. The first 300 miles of the route were in Illinois, stretching from Chicago to East St. Louis.

This presentation will describe some of what made Route 66 special. Woodstock Township Historical Society Director Michael Weiland will share stories and images of the road's origins, mystique and the people and places that made it memorable.
