The Volo Museum has a dedicated museum on-site to the tragedy of the Titanic sinking. Groups can receive a guided tour through that museum (30 at a time). See a Renault Type CB Coupe de Ville — one of two ever built. Owned by William Carter, the only other model of this vehicle rode and sank with the Titanic itself. They also exhibit other vehicles from this era, including Benjamin Guggenheim's very own car. Guggenheim was an American businessman who heroically decided to stay onboard the Titanic as it sank. Instead of scrambling for a spot on a lifeboat, he and his valet returned to their rooms, donning their fanciest suits and facing the tragedy as gentlemen.
Make sure you plan to explore the rest of the museum totally six miles. Don’t worry, lots of benches to rest! The rest of the Volo Museum features all sorts of transportation – trains, planes and automobiles. Plus, they have a huge antique mall for those seeking those treasures.
By this time, your troop will be hungry. There is a bakery and ice cream shop in the Volo Museum just in case a sweet tooth emerges. On your way to the hotel, a light lunch at Lindy’s Landing on Bangs Lake gives a time of refreshment and scenery.
