Unsinkable: A Group Tour Intinerary Dedicated to the Titanic

Volo Museum, Lindy's Landing and Marriott Theatre only scratch the surface of this interactive group tour centered around the tragedy of the Titanic.

Volo Museum

The Volo Museum has a dedicated museum on-site to the tragedy of the Titanic sinking. Groups can receive a guided tour through that museum (30 at a time). See a Renault Type CB Coupe de Ville — one of two ever built. Owned by William Carter, the only other model of this vehicle rode and sank with the Titanic itself. They also exhibit other vehicles from this era, including Benjamin Guggenheim's very own car. Guggenheim was an American businessman who heroically decided to stay onboard the Titanic as it sank. Instead of scrambling for a spot on a lifeboat, he and his valet returned to their rooms, donning their fanciest suits and facing the tragedy as gentlemen.

Volo Museum

Make sure you plan to explore the rest of the museum totally six miles. Don’t worry, lots of benches to rest! The rest of the Volo Museum features all sorts of transportation – trains, planes and automobiles. Plus, they have a huge antique mall for those seeking those treasures.

Lindy's Landing in Wauconda

By this time, your troop will be hungry. There is a bakery and ice cream shop in the Volo Museum just in case a sweet tooth emerges. On your way to the hotel, a light lunch at Lindy’s Landing on Bangs Lake gives a time of refreshment and scenery.

Lincolnshire Marriott Resort

Check into the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, our premier full-service hotel. Dinner is at Three Embers Restaurant right in the resort and afterwards head to the Marriott Theatre, also inside the resort for "Titanic the Musical." Running April 9 – June 1, 2025 this musical introduces a diverse cast of characters, including passengers and crew members from various social backgrounds, each with their dreams, aspirations, and personal stories. As the ship sets sail, the audience witnesses the intertwining narratives of the passengers.

Everyone can enjoy a beverage at the lounge or retire in knowing they are on land, safe & sound.

After a delicious breakfast in the hotel, tour the National Museum of the American Sailor. Naval Station Great Lakes started in 1911 (a year before Titanic sailed) has plenty of naval history and facts about the life of a sailor.
