The Waukegan Historical Society invites the community to celebrate the opening of the new Ray Bradbury Library Exhibit at the Waukegan History Museum at the Carnegie. Born in Waukegan, Ray Bradbury became one of the world’s most celebrated authors, best known for such classics as Fahrenheit 451, Dandelion Wine, and The Martian Chronicles. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Following the ceremony, the museum will offer free admission and remain open until 6:00 p.m.

In honor of Ray Bradbury’s birthday, the museum will again offer free admission on Saturday, August 22, and will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Free parking is available in Municipal Parking Lot F.
