The Wauconda Police Department, Wauconda Fire District, Village of Wauconda and community partners will host National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Wauconda. The family-friendly event will feature police vehicles and equipment, fire trucks, public works vehicles, a K-9 demonstration, music, food and games and prizes. Residents will have the opportunity to meet local first responders. National Night Out is designed to strengthen the partnership between law enforcement and the community. Organizers encourage residents to stop by to meet an officer, learn about public safety or simply enjoy an evening with family and friends.
