The Lake County Suicide Prevention Task Force will host its 14th Annual 5K Walk/Run for Awareness and Suicide Prevention on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at the College of Lake County.

Participants from across the country have joined the event in person and virtually in recent years, with last year marking a record number of participants. Proceeds support training and resources for the Lake County community. The event is family-friendly and dog-friendly (leashed dogs welcome) and will feature food trucks.

Event Schedule:

• Check-in: 9-10 a.m.
• Welcome and kick-off ceremony: 10 a.m. (also streamed on Facebook Live)
• Race start: 10:30 a.m.
• Resource fair: 9 a.m.-noon

Registration Fees:

• Ages 0-4: Free
• Ages 5-12: $10
• Adults: $30
