The Dandelion Gallery and Studio features the work of Peg Raasch showcasing over 25 music-themed paintings. Stop by for a brew or two from the Ray Bradbury-inspired Lake County Libation Trail partner, Nightshade and Dark’s Pandemonium Brewing Co. including their offerings like Burial@Sea (a Hefeweizen beer) and A Matter of Taste (a hoppy wheat brew). The gallery, which plays off Greentown legend Ray Bradbury, is an exceptional art collective and studio committed to promoting artists, while also providing education to those who are interested inthe scene. Everett Reynolds Art at Zenith Creative Studio
The City of Waukegan reigns supreme as the art capital of Lake County. Besides all the murals in the area, the City of Progress has an extensive list of galleries and areas dedicated to all creative and cultivated mediums. Everett Reynolds has been an integral piece in the city creating much of the artwork popping up around Waukegan. The artist sketched a piece called "Zira" on the side of Delia's Day Care at 1208 Grand Avenue, and the Ray Bradbury-themed mural entitled "Dream Big." The latter mural on the side of Zuniga Automotive Service and Towing on Belvidere Road. The mural is to instill the confidence and empowerment of children of color. Reynolds art makes for perfect art decor, and if you're looking for some body ink, he designs tattoos as well.
The celebrated Genesee Theatre in Waukegan is a regal theatre built in 1928, dripping with that roaring 20s charm. The auditorium seats over 2,400 attendees. Star-studded acts have graced this stage from the likes of Smokey Robinson, the Manhattan Transfer, the Beach Boys, Styx, LeAnn Rimes, Boyz II Men, Jerry Seinfeld, Jack Hanna, Ben Folds, Kristin Chenoweth, John Mulaney, Jay Leno, Wayne Brady, Modest Mouse and so many more. Tickets to shows are a great experience gift. Myriad performances are available through April.

The City of Progress library hosts a market that will provide unique gifts for that special someone this holiday season. The market showcases 20+ artisans selling everything from stocking stuffers to that marquee gift. Jolly old Saint Nicholas will appear, checking his list twice to see what he's bringing your youngsters and also to snap a pic for the gram and/or Christmas cards.
