The Openlands Lakeshore Preserve presents a rare opportunity to visit one of the last remaining ravine and bluff ecosystems in the Chicago region. The 77-acre Lakeshore Preserve is a designated Illinois Nature Preserve and home to three recreational trails, each running approximately one mile. With access to nature and beachfront, art installations, and education opportunities, the trail system provides visitors with many ways to enjoy the unique ravine, bluff, and lakeshore geology of the Openlands Lakeshore Preserve and the region. The site is open to the public year-round from 6:30am-sunset. For more information, please visit our website.
