Waukegan History Museum: The Waukegan museum is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Lake County as this historical landmark was erected in 1843. Also known as the Haines House, the Waukegan History Museum was once the home of Chicago’s former Mayor, John C. Haines. Not only does the home feature the appliances and furniture of a house from the 1800s, but it also possesses the bed that Abraham Lincoln slept in during his visit to Lake County.
