Community Cookbooks: Finding Family, Friends, and Lost Cookbooks at Dunn Museum

Community cookbooks are inherently local and provide tangible links to our past, especially family memories. These recipes are a collection of voices with a core purpose: They connect with community events and organizations to raise money for recreational areas, hospitals, schools, places or worship and much more. Learn more about efforts to collect and document community cookbooks of Highland Park, Illinois with Highland Park Historical Society Program Director Catherine Lambrecht and Archivist Nancy Webster. Also learn about historic cookbooks in the Dunn Museum collection from the Crofton family, who were stationed at Fort Sheridan, and how they impact the historical record.
