Celebrating Womens History Month: Art & Life - Kate Thompson Cory at the Waukegan History Museum at the Carnegie

Discover the art and life of Kate Thompson Cory, born in Waukegan, Illinois, to an abolitionist family connected to the Underground Railroad, who became an accomplished artist and photographer in the American Southwest.

Living among the Hopi in the early twentieth century, Cory created intimate portrayals of their daily life and culture. This exhibition explores her journey and features three paintings that reflect her unique perspective and enduring artistic legacy.
