The Green Oaks Libertyville Mundelein Vernon Hills (GLMV) Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up to host its much-anticipated 12th annual Extreme Block Party Family Expo and "Taste of the Towns." With an array of local vendors showcasing their goods and services, the Extreme Block Party Family Expo provides an excellent opportunity for residents to support local businesses. From home improvement and health services to financial and educational organizations, there's something for everyone at this expo. Attendees can explore the various offerings while enjoying entertainment, family activities, raffles, giveaways and show specials. Catch the Improv Playhouse promising laughter and entertainment, the School of Rock performance showcasing the talents of young musicians, view cold-blooded creates from the World of Reptile Show and more. 3. Egg-Citing Egg Hunt and Bunny Breakfast at Lakefront Park in Fox Lake

Fox Lake is set to host their annual Egg-Citing Egg Hunt and Bunny Breakfast, organized by the Fox Lake Lions Club and the Village of Fox Lake Parks & Recreation Department. Families are invited to kick off their Saturday with a delicious breakfast. In addition to the egg hunt and breakfast, attendees can look forward to a festive atmosphere filled with music, laughter and community. Whether you're a longtime resident or a visitor to the area, everyone is welcome to join in the Egg-citing Egg Hunt and Bunny Breakfast festivities. The egg hunt is for participants ages 10 and under.For inquiries about the event, the Village of Fox Lake Parks & Recreation Department can be reached at 224-225-1404.

4. Easter Egg Hunt on the Farm at Susanna Farms in Lake Villa

5. Women’s History Month Poetry at The Art Center Highland Park in Highland Park

Women's History Month draws to a close, The Art Center Highland Park invites the community to a special poetry event in honor of women's voices and creativity. Highlighting the occasion is Cathleen Schandelmeier, a renowned poet, playwright and advocate for the arts. With a career spanning a decade, Schandelmeier has made significant contributions to the literary community as the founder and host of The Beach Poets, a Chicago-based collective of bards, since 1990. The event will feature a poetry reading by Schandelmeier and there will be an open mic session hosted by local lyrical artist Lynn West, providing an opportunity for aspiring poets and enthusiasts to share their own verse.
