Indulge in a sweet adventure at the Maple Syrup Harvest! Suitable for ages 6 and up, alongside adults, this excursion promises to unravel the secrets behind everyone's favorite pancake topper. Embark on a short hike, where knowledgeable guides will demonstrate the art of identifying the perfect maple tree, discerning when it's ready for tapping and mastering the process of syrup extraction. After the outdoor adventure, registrants can participate in a tasting session featuring a variety of maple syrups paired with fresh pancakes. 2. Northern Illinois Boat Show at Lake County Fairgrounds and Event Center in Grayslake

3. “The Mountaintop” at the James Lumber Center at College of Lake County in Grayslake

The James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts is proud to present "The Mountaintop," a thought-provoking play by Katori Hall, reimagines the final night of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s life. The Grayslake show offers a glimpse into his inner struggles and reflections on the eve of his assassination. The play takes place on April 3, 1968, after Dr. King delivers his historic "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech in Memphis, Tennessee. Exhausted but determined, King retires to his room at the Lorraine Motel, where he encounters a mysterious stranger named Camae. The College of Lake County production of "The Mountaintop" promises a powerful and emotional experience. Don't miss this powerful and thought-provoking exploration of Dr. King's life and legacy.
