Things To Do This Weekend June 11-13, 2026

By: Stephanie Wylie 06/11/2026

Summer has a way of filling a calendar before you think to check it. This weekend across Lake County, the options run from sipping craft beer in a park to watching a butterfly emerge from its chrysalis, and somewhere in between, a child is negotiating the price of a board game they no longer want. Whether the plan is to stay close to home or make the drive to Glencoe, this weekend offers the kind of programming that turns a loose Saturday into something worth remembering. Here is what is happening and where to find it.

Let's look at Lake County's top five things to do this weekend, June 11-13, 2026.

1.Craft Beer Tasting in Vernon Hills

Craft beer, food trucks and a line dancing lesson walk into a park. It turns out that it is a perfectly reasonable Saturday afternoon. The annual Craft Beer Tasting returns to Century Park, where Chicago-area breweries including Lake County Libation Trail partners will pour their best offerings throughout the afternoon. Event goers can enjoy a DJ and a variety of food trucks. For those wishing to add a new skill to the evening, Kickin' It With Carol offers line dancing instruction on site. Each ticket includes a free tasting glass. Tickets are available at VHParkDistrict.org.

Saturday, June 13; 3 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $45 and designated driver tickets are $10. The event is open to adults ages 21 and older. Century Park, 1001 Lakeview Pkwy., Vernon Hills.

2. Butterflies & Blooms at Chicago Botanic Garden

Chicago Botanic Garden runs “Butterflies and Blooms,” a seasonal exhibit that transforms a 2,800-square-foot mesh enclosure on the Regenstein Learning Campus into a living habitat filled with butterfly species from South America, Asia, Africa, North America and Illinois. The Glencoe exhibit is as much an education as it is an experience. A view into the pupa room lets visitors watch new life emerge in real time, giving a close-up view of a transformation most people know about but rarely get to witness. The butterfly roster includes blue morphos, paper kites, starry crackers, buckeyes and Julia longwings. Details are at ChicagoBotanic.org. The exhibit runs daily through September 7.

Friday-Sunday, June 12-14; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Weather permitting and last entry 30 minutes prior to close. Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Rd., Glencoe.

3. Reclaimed Artisans Outdoor Market in Libertyville

Somewhere between the barn wood and the painted furniture, a Saturday morning has a way of disappearing on you. Reclaimed Artisans Inc. hosts its annual outdoor market, filling the parking lot with more than 50 local dealers offering antiques, vintage items, reclaimed furniture, handmade home decor and more. Live music runs from noon to 3 p.m., and food and drinks will be available throughout the day. The Libertyville outdoor market extends what Reclaimed Artisans does year-round inside its store, where more than 80 local artisans maintain consignment and rented spaces. For more information, visit ReclaimedArtisansIncIL.com.

Saturday, June 13; 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Free admission. Reclaimed Artisans Inc., 302 Peterson Rd., Libertyville.

4. 6th Annual Pride Parade in Grayslake

For one hour on a June Sunday, Center Street belongs to everyone. The sixth annual Grayslake Pride Parade, hosted by the Better Together Project, steps off Sunday, June 14, at noon through historic downtown Grayslake. The family-friendly parade begins at the intersection of Hawley and Slusser Streets. A local DJ provides music as the community gathers to celebrate love, inclusion and six years of a tradition that has made downtown Grayslake its home. Updates are available at GrayslakeVillageCenter.com.

Sunday, June 14; noon to 1 p.m. Free admission. Historic Downtown Grayslake, Center Street, Grayslake.

5. Kids Only Flea Market in Deerfield

Kids at flea market

The Kids Only Flea Market, a marketplace run entirely by children, for children, with adults welcome to watch but not to interfere. Young vendors in grades kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to bring old games, books, toys, stuffed animals, sports equipment, bikes, trading cards and similar items in good condition to sell. Kids set their own prices, staff their own booths and handle their own negotiations. Parents may supervise younger children but may not run booths, and all merchandise must belong to the kids participating. Baked goods are not permitted. Registration and details are at DeerfieldParks.org.

Saturday, June 13; Setup begins at 9 a.m., with the marketplace opening to buyers at 10 a.m. Fee to sell is $20. Jewett Park Community Center, 836 Jewett Park Dr., Deerfield.
