As we soak up the warm summer vibes, there's no better time to hit the beach or dive into the vibrant festival scene that defines our summer season. Get ready to immerse yourself in a fun-filled, festival-infused weekend!

1. Vernon Hills Days at Century Park

Kick off Vernon Hills Days, and annual event in Century Park, a three-day extravaganza filled with music, games and family-friendly activities. The renowned party also is highlighted by a carnival, face painting, the kid’s game show, a petting zoo and more for the kids, . Join in for a high-energy Bingo session hosted by Big Cat for your chance to win prizes.  Get ready for performances by Alt 101, The Gingers, Steve Augeri, the former lead singer for the celebrated band Jorney, Mike & Joe and more. Friday night features platinum recording artists, Everclear, delivering a setlist of their greatest hits, including "Santa Monica" and "Father of Mine." Throughout the Vernon Hills festival, visitors are offered 13 fare vendors including Mama Jerk n Tings of Waukegan, College of Lake County Culinary Program, Antioch Pizza and more. 2. Antioch Taste of Summer at the Antioch Bandshell

The Antioch Chamber of Commerce proudly presents the Taste of Summer, an annual celebration that promises music, food, family activities, exhibitors and sidewalk sales. Spanning three days, the streets of downtown Antioch will transform into a festival hub, visitors can enjoy headline bands, including The Wads, 90’s Pop Nation, Chicago OGD, Hi Infidelity and more. Partake in a variety of family-friendly activities, like “Touch a Truck,” relay races and more. A highlight of the Taste of Summer is the diverse food offerings, featuring local restaurants and vendors, including a special $2 "Taste" item from each vendor. Some of the eateries offering fare during this festival include Rivalry Alehouse, The Lodge of Antioch, The Peanut Butter Pig and more. 3. AlpineFest in Lake Zurich

Join the Lake Zurich Lions Club celebrate AlpineFest, where there’s family fun for everyone. AlpineFest’s entertainment includes a weekend with Hot Rocks, Mike & Joe, Mr. Blotto, Kevin Purcell and the Root Doctors and a variety of local talent. The fest features carnival rides, games of skill, a variety of food, beer garden and more. Sign up for the corn hole tournament ran by Lake County Baggers. Sunday morning a parade will maneuver through the streets of downtown Lake Zurich, starting at Whitney Road and Illinois Route 22 and ending at Lions Park. 4. 12th Annual Lambs Farm Car Show

Hot rod enthusiasts, mark your calendars for a day of automotive excitement at the 12th annual Lambs Farm Car Show. This inclusive event celebrates the diversity and beauty of automotive design, making it a must-visit for fans and casual visitors alike. Attendees can look forward to a range of activities, including live music by The Lost Keys. A food and beer tent will offer refreshments, raffles will be held with prizes up for grabs. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your prized vehicle and engage with fellow enthusiasts in a friendly and welcoming environment. 5. MainStreet Libertyville Sidewalk Sales

Shop ‘til you drop at MainStreet Libertyville’s Sidewalk Sales. Your favorite Libertyvil le shops will have a variety of deals available all day. Some of the participating locations include the 847 Running Company, As Above So Below, The Joyful Gourmet and more. Don’t forget to check out the selection of MainStreet Libertyville’s restaurants.
