A poetry reading featuring Avery R. Young will take place at the College of Lake County Grayslake Campus.
Young, Chicago’s inaugural poet laureate, is a visual and musical artist and the composer of the opera Safronia, which premiered this month with the Lyric Opera of Chicago to sold-out audiences. He also serves as co-director of the Floating Museum, known for organizing art installations throughout Chicago.
The reading is free and open to the public and will be held May 5 at 3 p.m. in the Esper Peterson Reading Room (L102), next to the library.
