Best known as Chicago police officer Mike Biggs in the hit sitcom Mike & Molly, comedian Billy Gardell started his career doing stand-up. He honed his craft in comedy clubs around the country, including Zanies in Chicago. 'I love the city, the people, the sarcasm, the food,' he said in an interview. 'I go back once a year.' He filmed his 2014 comedy special, Road Dogs: Chicago, as a nod to the Windy City.
The Emmy®-nominated actor and comedian often jokes that he did stand-up for over 25 years before becoming 'an overnight success.' That success led to television roles in Lucky; Yes, Dear; and Judging Amy, and in movies, including Jersey Boys and You, Me and Dupree.
