The Lakes Region Historical Society is proud to bring the 2015 Lincoln Funeral Car to Antioch.
All ages will enjoy this spectacular historical re-creation and unique exhibit. Admission is $5 per person. We regret that this historical recreation is not handicapped accessible.
Enjoy charming downtown Antioch with its many fine restaurants, eateries and shops, and within walking distance of Metra Rail (weekday service).
For Labor Day weekend, visitors will be treated to Civil War reenactors, cannon fire, and a free band concert given by the Regimental Volunteer Band of Wisconsin in the adjacent bandshell on Saturday, September 1 at 1:30 pm.
Another wonderful addition are two performances given by renowned actor Fritz Klein. Mr. Klein has portrayed Abraham Lincoln on the History Channel and National Geographic Channel, as well as being Springfield, Illinois' Lincoln. His portrayal with Last Full Measure written by Ken Bradbury--is a moving perspective from Lincoln's point of view, on what may have transpired in the President's mind while he lay dying that fateful night in April 1865.
