A Shovelful of Earth at Volo Bog State Natural Area

Sunday June 17, 2018

Times: 1 - 2:30 p.m.

Remember digging for worms and searching for roly-polys? Naturalist Stacy Iwanicki leads this delightfully simple dig into a shovelful of earth. This program is brought on by request from a forth grader this spring who asked if we ever offer it for people on the weekends. You bet we do! So join us as we search for more than just worms. Millipedes and red velvet mites, spiders and ants are also among the critters that can be found in the soil from under our feet. Fun for adults as well as kids ages 4 & up.
***Meet in the picnic shelter***
