1. Blackout at Dungeon of Doom Haunted House in Zion

Get ready to confront your fears in total darkness at Dungeon of Doom Haunted House's celebrated Blackout event. This extreme, one-hour haunted experience will plunge you into complete darkness, with only a single glow stick lighting your way through terrifying scenes filled with lurking horrors and bone-chilling encounters. The Zion haunted attraction is one of Chicago area’s largest haunted houses, covering a massive 45,000 square feet. Over 27 years, this haunt has cemented its reputation with pulse-pounding attractions that push the boundaries of fear and psychological terror. Blackout is designed with an adult audience in mind, so prepare for an intense, in-your-face experience orchestrated by over 70 live actors skilled at tapping into visitors’ deepest fears. 2. “Art For Everyone: Bob Ross” Exhibit at Dunn Museum in Libertyville

Dive into the colorful, calming world of Bob Ross and his signature "happy little trees" at the Dunn Museum’s special exhibit. Open through January 20, the “Art for Everyone: Bob Ross”  exhibit is a rare opportunity for fans and art lovers to experience 75 original works by the beloved American painter. Known for his gentle voice and quick, landscape masterpieces on “The Joy of Painting,” Ross became a cultural icon. Visitors can explore his skillfully crafted landscapes, which range from serene lakes to vibrant forests. Visitors of the Lake County Forest Preserve District museum are encouraged to reflect on Ross’s enduring message: creativity is for everyone and beauty can be found in even the simplest brushstrokes. 3. Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” at Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire

Step into a world of classic holiday cheer as Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” takes the stage at the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire. Running on select days until December 29, this festive production is filled with heartwarming moments, cherished songs and the nostalgic charm that has made “White Christmas” a holiday staple for generations. Based on the beloved 1954 film, the stage adaptation promises audiences an enchanting experience with timeless hits like “Blue Skies,” “Count Your Blessings” and, the title song, “White Christmas.” The story follows two song-and-dance men who team up with a talented sister act to save a struggling Vermont inn.
