Things To Do This Weekend May 29-31, 2026

The weekend is here and Lake County has no shortage of ways to celebrate. Whether you're looking to sample local craft beers lakeside, bring the whole family out for a day of fun or show up and show out for your community, there's something happening this weekend for everyone. From outdoor festivals and live music to parades and bike rodeos, the area is packed with events that capture the best of the season. Read on for a roundup of what's going on near you.

1. Brews and Views at the Beer Garden at Independence Grove in Libertyville

Spend your Friday evening sitting lakeside with a craft beer and live music as the Beer Garden at Independence Grove Forest Preserve hosts Brews and Views. Eleven Lake County Libation Trail partners will gather for an evening of craft beer tastings, food and live music from local artists Chuck Wilson and Bluewater Creek. Punch cards are available and include 10 four-ounce tastings, a souvenir tasting glass and small bites from onsite eatery Relish Café. The brewery lineup includes 9th Hour Brewing Co., Black Lung Brewing Company, Broken Tee Brewery, Buffalo Creek Brewing, Harbor Brewing Co., Mickey Finn's Brewery, Phase Three Brewing Co., Roaring Table Brewery, Tighthead Brewing Co. and more. Beginning at 5:01 p.m., join WIIL Rock morning show hosts Tom and Leah and Visit Lake County for the 5:01 Club Party, where attendees can win WIIL Rock swag and prizes, plus a drawing at 7 p.m. for upcoming shows. Friday, May 29; 4-8 p.m. Punch cards are $30, available at the Beer Garden during the event. Tastings are limited to adults ages 21 and older. Beer Garden at Independence Grove Forest Preserve, 16400 W. Buckley Rd., Libertyville.

2. 4th Annual Spring Into Summer Fest at Tighthead Brewery in Mundelein

Tighthead Brewing Company hosts its 4th annual Spring Into Summer Fest on Saturday, May 30, bringing together local brews, live music, food, gardening activities and family-friendly entertainment. Families can enjoy Dave Dinaso's Traveling World of Reptile Show, a Touch-a-Truck event featuring fire and public works vehicles and gardening activities at the Mundelein event. 3. Lakefront Beach Party and Bike Rodeo in Fox Lake

The Village of Fox Lake Parks and Recreation Department and the Fox Lake Police Department are teaming up for the Lakefront Beach Party and Bike Rodeo on Saturday, May 30. The event marks the opening of Lakefront Park Beach and National Bike Safety Month. The bike rodeo features safety training and a bicycle obstacle course, with free helmet giveaways available while supplies last. The beach party will include music, beach games, activities, a caricature artist and a balloon artist. For a full list of events, visit FoxLake.org.

4. Waukegan Pride Parade and Festival

Waukegan's annual Pride Parade and Festival returns Saturday, May 30, beginning with the parade at 2 p.m. from the Waukegan Community Unit School’s Lincoln Center along Sheridan Road. The procession winds to Waukegan Harbor, where the festival continues at 3 p.m. The LGBTQIA+ festival features entertainment, food, vendors and community celebration at Waukegan Harbor. 5. Summer Fam Jam at Phase Three Brewing in Lake Zurich

Phase Three Brewing Company hosts its Summer Fam Jam on May 30-31, transforming its Lake Zurich taproom and grounds into a two-day family festival. The event is divided into three zones: the Action Zone, featuring bounce houses and high-energy challenges; the Hangout Zone, offering a relaxed pace with sweet treats; and the Creative Corner, a quiet, artistic space. Tickets are available at PhaseThreeBrewing.com.
