Women's History Month draws to a close, The Art Center Highland Park invites the community to a special poetry event in honor of women's voices and creativity. Highlighting the occasion is Cathleen Schandelmeier, a renowned poet, playwright and advocate for the arts. With a career spanning a decade, Schandelmeier has made significant contributions to the literary community as the founder and host of The Beach Poets, a Chicago-based collective of bards, since 1990. The event will feature a poetry reading by Schandelmeier and there will be an open mic session hosted by local lyrical artist Lynn West, providing an opportunity for aspiring poets and enthusiasts to share their own verse.
