1. Winter Wine Walk in Downtown Antioch

The charm of Antioch’s downtown will come alive with warmth and flavor as the Winter Wine Walk makes its return. Hosted by the Antioch Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Antioch Fine Wine & Liquors, the Lake County village invites wine enthusiasts to sip, stroll and savor more than 50 wines while exploring the downtown shops and businesses. Each participant will receive a souvenir bag, a wine glass and a bonus bottle of vino to take home. Beyond the wine, the Winter Wine Walk offers visitors a chance to discover Antioch's vibrant downtown. 2. Martin Luther King Jr. Festival: Let’s Dream Together at the Wayfarer Theaters

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s enduring legacy of peace, unity insight and advocacy, the Wayfarer Theaters are hosting the inaugural MLK, Jr. Festival: Let’s Dream Together. This free Highland Park community event offers an inspiring program designed to celebrate King’s vision and bring people together in reflection and celebration. The program begins with a warm welcome and live music from a jazz trio, followed by engaging activities for children and families. Attendees can enjoy a special feature film honoring King’s life and impact, concluding with presentations from student speakers. 3. Artwauk in Downtown Waukegan

Downtown Waukegan transforms into a vibrant hub of creativity, offering a unique celebration of art and culture through the beloved ArtWauk event. Hosted by ArtWauk and the City of Waukegan, this monthly tradition invites visitors to experience the best of the city’s Arts and Entertainment District. Saturday evening promises a dynamic blend of classic and modern art showcased in galleries and venues downtown. January promises an unforgettable evening, featuring the Envy Us Fashion Show at Envy Streetwear and the Odyssey Jam with Gustavo Astudillo and his band roaring through modern jazz at Nightshade and Dark’s Pandemonium Brewing—plus a pop-up by Waukegan Record Exchange. In addition to the stunning artwork, several galleries and venues will offer complimentary refreshments. ArtWauk promises another memorable evening in Waukegan.

4. Grayslake Skate in the Park

Bundle up and bring your skates for an afternoon of winter fun as the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce hosts its third annual Skate in the Park. This family-friendly event kicks off with a dazzling performance by exhibition figure skaters from Glacier Ice Arena. Afterward, attendees can lace up their own skates and enjoy open skating or test their aim in a shoot-the-puck contest. This event will feature bonfires, hot chocolate and a food truck. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own skates, as rentals will not be available. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or simply looking for a fun way to embrace the winter weather, Skate in the Park promises a delightful afternoon for all. 5. The Lehmann Mansion Wedding Show in Lake Villa

Whether you’re newly engaged, finalizing wedding plans or simply looking for inspiration, the Lehmann Mansion Wedding Show offers a one-stop shop for all things bridal. This free event invites attendees to connect with a variety of wedding vendors, providing resources for every aspect of the big day. The Lake Villa show is designed to help couples discover the services and expertise they need to create their dream wedding. The event is an excellent starting point for newly-engaged couples or a chance to finalize details for those closer to their big day.
