Things to do this Weekend May 29-31

It's always difficult to head back to the daily grind after an extended weekend. However, now that we’re well-rested and have a four-day week to look forward to, we can look ahead to see what you’re doing next weekend.

Hopefully the Blackhawks can stay afloat tonight, so we can see a game 7 on Saturday. Also the kids are seeing the school come to a close in the upcoming week. For a job well-done, you can treat the youngin’s to Hurricane Harbor – since they opened their doors over Memorial Day weekend.

Here are your top five Lake County things to do this weekend May 29-31:

1.)    Thirsty for an ice cold brew? Downtown Grayslake hosts the Grayslake Craft Beer Festival featuring over 40 brewers handing out cold ones, eats, live music and more. Don’t miss this wide variety of tasty suds Saturday afternoon.

Saturday, May 30; 1-5 p.m.; Downtown Grayslake 61 S. Whitney St – VIP: $65, At the door: $45, online tickets: $35.

2.)    Bumper cars, Tilt-a-whirl and the Zipper are all fan favorite rides featured at the Winthrop Harbor Summer Fair & Carnival. In addition to the fun carnival rides and games there will be blow-up slides as well as various food booths handing out delicious treats. Live performances will feature Libido Funk Circus on Friday and Hillbilly Rock Starz on Saturday. Don’t forget to stay for the fireworks Saturday night.

Friday-Sunday May 29-31; 38 Acre Park 2700 9th St., Winthrop Harbor

3.)    Former Late Late Show Host and cast member on the Drew Carey Show, Craig Ferguson brings his Hot & Grumpy Tour: Walking the Earth to Genesee Theatre. Watch the author and Emmy Award nominated comedian bring his political satire jokes to the stage in Waukegan.

Sunday May 31; 7:30 p.m. Genesee Theatre 203 N. Genesee St Waukegan; Tickets between $35-$55

4.)    Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. Lambs Farm in Libertyville is hosting their Third Annual Car & Bike Show. This free admission show urges you to flaunt your car, truck or bike. If you’re just there to stare at the vehicles, the Libertyville farm will be displaying those as well as hosting live music, raffles and much more. Prizes and trophies will be awarded to the best of the best.

Sunday May, 31; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. 14245 Rockland Rd Libertyville; Cars registering $15 donation to Lambs Farm or $20 at the gate.

5.)    Bring the entire family out to witness artists from all across the country at Deerfield’s Annual Fine Arts Festival. The festival in Downtown Deerfield will provide live music, catered festival food, kid’s art activities and more. Participating exhibitors representing 20 different states will display mediums such as painting, photography, jewelry, fiber, sculpture, mixed media and ceramics.

Saturday and Sunday, May 30-31; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Downtown Deerfield Park Ave & Deerfield Rd.
