Let's be honest people, a collection of drummers drumming, pipers piping, lords leaping, ladies dancing, maids milking, swans swimming, geese laying, golden rings, calling birds, french hens, turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree seem a little excessive.
I mean, just think of the mess and racket those persons, places and things would make. It is doubtful however that people would turn down five golden rings - sounds like you just made bank.
However, for the purpose of the holiday season, the banger and just good ole fashioned fun, let's see what we can get on the 12 days of Christmas in the land of lakes. Holiday your way in the marquee season's greetings land.
- In 2021, Tsunami Surge, a water coaster at Six Flag's Hurricane Harbor Chicago was opened and was dubbed the tallest water coaster in the world. This attraction will be the tallest water coaster in the world, Standing 86 feet at its peak. This ride will utilize a water-launching technology to send its riders through 950 feet of slides.
- Fun Lake County trivia: The flags at Great America reflect the six flags that flew over Texas, the state where the amusement park company originated. The six flags that flew over Texas include the United States of America, Mexico, France, Spain, the U.S. Confederacy and the Texas flag. In Lake County, there are 48 villages, 23 unincorporated communities, 18 townships, nine census-designated places and seven land of lakes cities.
The Olympic games are packed with Prairie State dwellers. According to the
Chicago Tribune, since 1896, Illinois residents have taken home nearly 240 Olympic gold, silver or bronze medals. The City of Lake Forest leads the pack for our fair county with 18 medal recipients historically. There are 11 past and present land of lakes representatives

- Shawn Marion of Waukegan: Basketball (bronze medalist 2004)
- Charlie Houchin of Lake Forest: Swimming (gold medalist 2012)
- Conor Dwyer of Lake Forest: Swimming (two-time gold medalist and bronze medalist 2012-16)
- Mason Phelps of Lake Forest: Golf (gold medalist 1904)
- Daniel Dennis of Fox Lake (competed in 2016)
