Lake County Government has a new Art in Public Places Program in partnership with local artists and galleries. Throughout the year, artwork created by local artists will be exhibited in the county's main administration building, located at 18 N. County Street, in downtown Waukegan.
The first exhibit is a celebration of Women's History Month. Six local, female artists are presenting I Connect: Women Artists of Lake County.
Lake County artists include Kate Knutson, Aruna Sarode, Michelle Patch, Maricarmen Pizano, Lauren Marsh, and Katrina Davis-Salazar. Michelle Patch and Katrina Davis-Salazar curated the exhibit.
The exhibit is free and open to the public Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Parking is available in the attached parking garage and is free for the first two hours. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks and social distancing guidelines are currently required for all who enter Lake County government buildings.
