The Family Stone at Genesee Theatre

Sly and The Family Stone produced some of the best funk during the golden era of psychedelic soul. Their songs have influenced everyone from Prince to Lenny Kravitz, and their iconic hooks have been sampled by artists around the world.

Irreverent and powerful with lyrics to match, their music has become a national treasure. In 2014, the Library of Congress added their album Stand! to the National Recording Registry. The following year, the album was inducted into the Grammy® Hall of Fame.

Today, original member and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Jerry Martini carries on The Family Stone legacy with Phunne Stone, daughter of Sly and the band's late trumpeter Cynthia Robinson. They're joined by a tight rhythm section that lays down the groove like nobody's business.
