Pre-registration and tickets, which are mandatory, will be available in early April through http://longgrove.org/festivals/for-the-love-of-chocolate.
For the Love of Chocolate brings three days of life's most delectable dessert mixed with family fun. This year's event will focus on all things chocolate - from chocolate demos to chocolate classes and everything in between - starting with the opening preview on Friday, May 14th.
Billed as a "VIP Chocolate Night" from 5 pm to 7 pm, this separately ticketed kickoff event will give a limited number of ticketholders a sampling of the weekend festivities (less the crowds). VIP attendees will receive swag bags and other specials exclusive to VIP Chocolate Night and enjoy live music and a Chocolate Bar where they can purchase chocolate-infused drinks (alcohol and non-alcohol) before the event officially opens to the pre-registered public on Saturday and Sunday.
Over the weekend, For the Love of Chocolate swings into full cocoa mode with a Chocolate Expo Tent, Chocolate Experience Tent, and Chocolate Row of vendors. Like Chocolate Fest, at its core, For the Love of Chocolate is for chocoholics. Ticketholders can hear about the history of chocolate - how it's grown, sourced, and made. They can learn how to taste craft chocolate correctly or watch a demonstration to see how to make chocolate treats at home. Industry experts will be there to entertain, educate, energize, and engage attendees in the wonderful world of chocolate. Meanwhile, some of the most innovative chocolate cuisine - foods everyone loves made with or dipped in chocolate - will be showcased by the area's leading chocolate makers, chocolatiers, cocoa producers, and more selling and sampling their handiworks and chatting with attendees. Vendors who will line Robert Parker Coffin Road (closed to traffic) will be limited to chocolate-related businesses only, with proper social distancing enforced between tents.
In addition to the chocolate bonanza, For the Love of Chocolate will host multiple stages of live entertainment sprinkled throughout the historic town. The main stage, located on Chocolate Row, will feature all music - headlined by Hello Dave on Sunday afternoon - while Brother's Field nearby will be home to various entertainers, DJs, and live music daily. Many more musicians, from solo artists and duets to full bands, will also pop up in other locations such as the Sunset Pavilion and the Gazebo at the Covered Bridge all weekend long. The schedule will vary each day to encourage people to make a weekend out of it with the purchase of an All Access Pass. Add-ons when registering online for various chocolate classes and sessions may carry a separate price. General admission will include a goody bag along with single-day access.
