Following a multiyear revitalization project, historic downtown Long Grove is prepared to re-emerge as one of Illinois’ top “destination towns." Visitors can experience all the new enhancements at the first big town-wide event of 2020, the 3rd annual Long Grove Cocoa Crawl. On Saturday, February 1st, over two dozen downtown merchants will team up for a fun-filled, family-friendly day where visitors can crawl out of winter hibernation to take in the new environs along with a cocoa-infused treat… or two… or three.
The Cocoa Crawl celebrates the winter season and the vibrant retail scene in Long Grove. Guests who attend the free event from 12 pm to 4 pm will start at the Visitor's Center where they’ll pick up a map of participating stores and restaurants before crawling around town to as many spots as they like for complimentary sampling. All Cocoa Crawl stops will be serving cocoa or cocoa-inspired foods and drinks – from hot cocoa popcorn at Signature Popcorn to chocolate bacon stout at Buffalo Creek Brewing. Before calling it a day, Cocoa Crawlers are invited to come back to the Visitor's Center to vote on their favorite cocoa treat and be entered into a raffle for prizes donated by participants. To top it off, participating Long Grove merchants will give visitors with more than just delicious cocoa; “they’ll provide friendly faces to help find the perfect treasures.”
