Guided Forest Therapy Walk with Linda Karlen at Volo Bog State Natural Area

Saturday January 27, 2018

Times: 1 pm - 3 pm

Medical studies can now confirm what many people have felt for years – being in nature is good for us. A practice of immersing ourselves in the natural world can help us de-stress, improve concentration, and boost our immune systems. In turn, we can be good for nature, building a relationship that helps us protect and support nature in our more-than-human world. The Association of Nature & Forest Therapy Guides and Programs has developed guided walks that help participants create or deepen meaningful relationships with nature. Walks are typically 2-3 hours and cover a mile or less. Guides rely on sensory awareness and shared observations to create a meaningful and fun experience. You’re invited to join Linda Karlen, trained Forest Therapy Guide. Geared to adults and interested youth ages 11 and up. Registration is requested at 815-344-1294 or dnr.volobog@illinois.gov - please tell us how many people and ages of minors. Group size is limited - Walk-ins welcome if space allows but walk may be cancelled if minimum registration is not met 24 hours prior.
