2.) 9th Annual Ray Bradbury Storytelling Festival Friday, October 31, 10:30 a.m., 6:30 p.m., 8 p.m. Celebrate Ray Bradbury’s favorite holiday with some of the most recognized ghost stories, macabre fables, and creepy tales told on the historic Genesee Theatre stage. The 6:30 p.m. act is a frightful family friendly experience, while the 8 p.m. act is recommended for listeners ages 12 and older. Genesee Theatre, Waukegan

DiCarlo’s Fall Wine, Food, & Craft Beer Festival Saturday, November 1, 12 p.m – 4 p.m. Enjoy a Saturday afternoon tasting craft beer, wine and food at the DiCarlo’s Fall, Wine, Food & Craft Beer Festival. This festival will showcase hundreds of fine wines, dozens of craft beer and food samples from local restaurants. Tickets at $30 in advance and $35 at the door. DoubleTree by Hilton, 510 E. The Richardson Adventure Farm offers 5 mazes with 33 acres of maze fields, featuring a 10 minute quick maze, a quiz maze to the world’s largest corn maze. Fright Fest at Six Flags Great America, Thru November 2, Thursday, 6 - 11 p.m., Friday, 5 – 11 p.m., Saturdays, 11 a.m. – Midnight, Sundays, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. It’s thrills by day and chills by night at Fright Fest’s biggest celebration ever. Bring kiddos for the day to enjoy family fun rides and less scary entertainment and then ride coasters in the dark, enjoy a live show, or explore one of 6 terrifying haunted houses. 7.) Haunted House Season Lake County is home to some of the highest rated haunted houses in the region including Dungeon of Doom and the Realm of Terror.
