Frumentum Corn Lager
Outlook: During the mid 1800's brewers used the available barley which created a slightly harsh beer. By adding the available native corn this provided a sweetness that could lessen the harshness of these beers and often created a clearer bee. While the Pre-Prohibition beer usually had higher alcohol levels and higher bitterness, our "amaizing" version has an ABV of 4.9% and an IBU of 19.

2019 Tempranillo Red
Outlook: The Wheeling winery featured this treat in their April Red Wine of the Month. The superb 2019 vino is renowned go-to in Spain. Tempranillo is an iconic bevrage is referring to the word Temprano, which means that this type of grape ripens earlier than traditional varieties in the aformentioned European country. The vibrant vino is highlighted by an aroma of cedar, vanilla, blueberry, white pepper, laurel leaves, herbs and earthy notes. The palate features black currant, plum, dark chocolate, herbs and hints of sage. The full-bodied beverage obtains a complex, yet smooth and long finish. Aged for 24 months in an American oak barrel, this pairs perfectly with Spanish Paella, Mexican entreés, cheeses like cheddar and Monterey jack and spiced lamb chops.

2023 American Malt Whiskey Release
Outlook: The craft distillery in Green Oaks has discovered a new layer of complexity with this year's malt whiskey. With this 12th edition, the whiskey has hints of honey, heather and pear. A note of apricot reach the palette as the spirit then finishes with layers of honey malt and jasmine. This is the result of the 100% malted barley that is fermented in-house and distilled through the custom-made, Ethel the Still. The smoothness makes it easy to sip as it is aged sevenyears.

Tighthead Brewing Co. and Mickey Finn's Brewery banded together to create a wonderful smoked beer. The two brewmasters, in a prior life, created a ton of suds. Jason Marten's, the LIbertyville brewmaster and Billy Oaks, one of the Mundelein bar's brewmasters, would smoke cigars around an open fire, that ultimately inspired this smoked Helles recipe. Outlook: The 2019 Reserve Zinfandel is a deliciously sweet red wine, thanks to slow fermenting and daily pump-overs (pumping juice from the bottom of the tank and splashing it over the top). This technique which creates a smooth flavor. Glunz Family Winery does not refine or filter this delicious Zinfandel to retain as much flavor as possible when bottling. Glunz lets it sit in French and American oak barrels for 18 months before bottling. Try this 2019 Reserve Zinfandel in the Grayslake tasting room, or take a bottle home with you.
