2024 #LetsSnapLakeCounty Photo Contest Rules

Terms & Conditions

Entry: Contestants will enter by uploading high-resolution JPG, PNG, TIF, SVG, PDF, AVI, FLV, MOV, MP4, MG, WMV images via visitlakecounty.org/lets-snap-lake-county-photo-contest or here. No photographs will be accepted via snail mail. Photo entries can also be submitted via email and Instagram. If posted on Instagram, your submission must say #LetsSnapLakeCounty. Participants are allowed to submit up to five images. The resolution should be higher than 300 DPI and/or PPI. DPI means dots for each inch on the paper, while PPI stands for pixels for each inch on your screen. That said, Visit Lake County will accept imagery under the aforementioned requested resolution. Photograph must be taken as of April 2024 and current. Photos that infringe upon another photographer’s copyright are not eligible. Photographs must not be digitally enhanced. Minor adjustments including contrast, color adjustments, minor crops and other small details are acceptable.

Run Time: April 1 - May 30, 2024.

Eligibility: The contest is open to United States citizens over the age of 18. Contestants ages 18 and under may participate under the consent of parental guidance and submission.

Categories: We will accept submissions for five categories: Outdoors, Family/People, Lake County Events, Video, Dining/Libations and Other Travel Culture (i.e. architecture, downtown areas, photomanipulation, shopping, drone, etc). There will be a grand prize winner as well as the aforementioned six other category winners. 

Winner and prizes: Visit Lake County will judge the submissions on creativity, skill level, clarity, innovation, entertainment quality, marketability/commercial appeal, detail and adherence to the terms and conditions. Visit Lake County will select a winner and a runner-up. Winners will be notified after the entry window closes. The winner has 14 days to respond. If winner fails to do so, Visit Lake County will select another winner.
 
Conditions: Winners and non-winners might have the chance to have their photos featured in some facet of Visit Lake County’s communique (i.e. website, print literature, social media, newsletters and other platforms). By submitting images the #LetsSnapLakeCounty Photo Contest hereby grant non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to broadcast, publish, store, reproduce, distribute and exhibit. If used, photo credit will be shown in the image's alternative information. Any photo used in print will also have the entrant’s photo credits. Visit Lake County is under no obligation to use any submission or return the submissions to participants. Visit Lake County reserves the right to modify or suspend the contest.

No endorsement: By participating in this contest, you acknowledge that this contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, associated with or administered by Crowdriff or any other social media handle i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, SnapChat, Pinterest, etc.

Conduct: All contest participants agree to the rules and Visit Lake County reserves the right to disqualify any participants. Photos with people or non-family members must have written releases. Visit Lake County will reject  any imagery exhibiting obscene gestures, sexual content or innuendos, violence, racism, disobedience or anything we deem inappropriate. 

By submitting an entry into this contest, the user agrees to join the Lake County newsletter list. The contents of your email is confidential and intended for the recipient specified in the message only. It is strictly forbidden to share any information with any third party without written consent of the participant.
