Take a dip in the drink, recline, relax and experience all the thrills at Hurricane Harbor.

If you happen to be a season pass holder, Six Flags Great America visitors can enter the Gurnee water park for free. If you aren't an owner of a season pass, that's OK; you can add Hurricane Harbor onto your day for a mere $10.

Here are a few things to note before entering:

  • Footwear other than aqua socks are not allowed in any attraction
  • Aqua socks are not permitted on body slides
  • Swimsuits are only allowed in Six Flags Hurricane Harbor (they are not allowed in the Six Flags Great America area)
  • Just like at a pool, running is not allowed anywhere in the park
  • Capacity is limited, so the park may not be available to all guests during peak hours

When the Lake County heat starts to get to you, Hurricane Harbor is there to help cool things off. Hurricane Bay has one million gallons of water. Don't want the big splash? Take a fun rafting adventure before heading down high-speed water slides. Take the littlest adventurers to the kid-zone full of mini slides, fun places to splash and a relaxing lounge area where they can rest up. There's no reason to let the heat beat you this summer.

Here's a brief glance at the rides Hurricane Harbor has to offer.

  • Bahama Mama: Family and friends can fit in a jumbo-sized raft that swishes down a series of bumpy hills
  • Buccaneer Bay: This ridiculously wet kid-zone has loads to climb on and splash, plus plenty of lounging area for mom and dad
  • Castaway Creek: Take a relaxing and scenic raft cruise down a lazy river, past the coolest attractions in the Harbor
  • Dive Bomber: Take a five-story free fall to the next level, with a trapdoor entrance opening when you least expect it
  • Hammerhead & Barracuda: A fierce frenzy of insane tube slides, switching from open to enclosed flumes all the way down
  • Hurricane Bay: The phenomenal half-million gallon wave pool makes king-sized waves in an ocean of fun
  • Mega Wedgie: Count to three and shoot down a five-story, near-vertical drop at 40 miles per hour
  • Monsoon Lagoon: A giant interactive pool is the ultimate hangout spot for sun lovers
  • Paradise Plunge & Riptide: Race down these towers at 40 mph for a high-speed rush
  • Riptide Bay: Riptide Bay - is home to Dive Bomber, Surf Rider, Mega Wedgie, Wipeout, Monsoon Lagoon and luxury cabanas
  • Skull Island: This soaking kid-zone has loads to climb on, slide down and splash through
  • Surf Rider: Get your wave on in this realistic surfing simulator as you ride five-foot waves on your boogie board
