Autumn's Here for the Win in Lake County

By: Jonathan Jones 08/30/2016

girl pumpkin Didier Farms compressedJust when you thought your dreams were drifting away with summer ending, September shows up in Lake County. The result? Autumn for the win!

Fall is a big season! It’s so full of rich colors, robust flavors and so many festive events that it’s hard to make a decision on what to do.

From pumpkin patches to family friendly festivals and haunted houses, Lake County has what you're looking for in the fall. Summer is all but lost, but in relief: autumn's here.

The great Chicago critic, Roger Ebert said it best, "There is a part of me that will forever want to be walking under autumn leaves, carrying a briefcase containing the works of Shakespeare and Yeats and a portable chess set. I will pass an old tree under which once on a summer night I lay on the grass with a fragrant young woman and we quoted E.E. Cummings back and forth."

Scroll down and get info on pumpkin patches, popular and unique festivals and events, Oktoberfest celebrations, Halloween festivities, fun runs and so much more!
