Day One: This travel day will take you directly to the NEW Great Wolf Lodge Illinois in Gurnee. Your students check in and enjoy all the thrills at the enormous 80,000-square-foot waterpark. Dinner can be on their own at the various restaurants (or as a group), and everyone can gather at Ben & Jerry's later in the evening for ice cream.
Day Two: After a breakfast at the resort, start the day with a behind-the-scenes peek at the waterpark! Tempel Farms: take a one-hour tour & training session and learn how the Lipizzan stallions were rescued in World War II by Gen. George Patton. See training of the battlemoves displayed during their summer performances. Take a drive up to the Jelly Belly Center for a free tour that includes samples and time in the retail store. A tour of the unusual Gold Pyramid House is a look at Egyptian art and living life under a pyramid. Lunch at the nearby Rainforest Cafe is a true experience in eating, that's quick, fun and unique. Volo Auto Museum provides a mixture of pop culture and history with 33 exhibits including movie and classic cars and military zone vehicles.
Day Three: It's all about Six Flags Great America/Hurricane Harbor today. Your performance, fun and meals are all arranged. Roller coasters, water rides and games await. Later on, its Tilt Studio at Rink Side for fun at full blast. Located in Gurnee Mills, students can opt for dinner at Rink Side or in the food courts. Shopping is always a hit with 200+ stores and can include an educational tour of Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. Later, catch an evening performance at one of our many theatres or fun and games at 60 to Escape, with fully-themed "escape rooms" where you have to discover codes, solve puzzles, open locks, and find secret entrances to complete your mission. Or, jump, bounce, flip and dodgeball, too, at Gurnee's Jump America.
Day Four: A morning tour or workshop with lunch at the Chicago Botanic Garden rounds out your last day before heading home. As you drive past other options such as Wildlife Discovery Center, Bess Bower Dunn Museum, Marytown/Kolbe Shrine, or Sanfilippo Estate, you can start planning next year's return trip to Lake County!
