Lake County Films & Locations

Antioch | Deerfield  | Highland Park | Gurnee  | Lake Forest | Vernon Hills | Waukegan

Lake County has always been a hot bed for Hollywood movies. In our Always A Groundhog, Never a Bride Group Tour Itinerary, you can see the magnificent Cuneo Mansion & Gardens, featured in "My Best Friend's Wedding". The spacious lawn and gardens set the scene for the revealing best friend kiss, the wedding reception and the winding drive which lit up as the newly married couple drove off to their honeymoon.

Not part of a group tour, no worries. Stop out at the Volo Auto Museum and reminisce fondly about the movie and TV cars that you will see on display. Batman, The Blues Brothers, Back to the Future cars and more will get your heart racing. Take a drive down the Amstutz Highway where Bill Murray tried to leave town before the snowstorm in "Groundhog Day". Many other movie scenes were shot here including a couple "Batman" movies and "Contagion". This is also the location of where the hit NBC TV drama, "Chicago Fire" has fimed some scenes.
