Getting Hooked on the Chain O' Lakes
Let the Ride Take You...

Start your day with beauty and wonder at Volo Bog State Natural Area, where each season offers a new experience. Watch the orchids appear in the spring and see the beautiful colors of fall in the autumn months. Observe great blue and green herons, beavers, white-tailed deer and indigenous plant life year round at state's only quaking bog with an open water cetner. For a less active trip, the Visitor Center offers history and hands on activities.

Continue on to Port of Blarney in Antioch where a shuttle boat will take you on a tour of the Chain O' Lakes, rich in gangster history and folklore. Once famous for water lily boat tours, they are making a comeback! See Grass, Nippersink and Fox Lakes as well as Mineola Bay.

Enjoy a very casual lunch on Blarney Island, a Key West-themed boating baron a man-made island, before returning to the mainland. Your package includes a personal tour guide, boat tour and lunch on the island. Note: tours are done on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from late May thru early October (weather permitting).

Browse along the main street of Antioch for unique shops including a tea shop, fine arts gallery, chocolate shop, antiques, a huge home decor & crafts store, a famous china outlet store and more! A local historian can provide a talk on how Antioch was one of the Chain's hotspots during Prohibition.

Dinner at a David's Bistro will give everyone a chance to relax and discuss their discoveries. Check into the nearby Best Western Plus, relax in the lounge while the staff will take care of everything.

Complete your day in the Chain O'Lakes Area of Lake County by seeing local actors in a favorite play or musical, a downtown concert or experiencing one of their many festivals or seasonal craft fairs.

Next day add - on gangster exerience: Tommy Gun's Garage in Chicago. Any way you arrange it - your group will be hooked.
