Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Michael Charles came to the USA upon an invitation from Mr. Buddy Guy’s management to appear at Legends in Chicago.

After traveling and performing with some of Chicago’s greats, his heart and head told him America is where he needed to bring his career. Some thirty years later, still driven, and touring annually and internationally for over twenty years and in his home state Michael is recognized as an Illinois ArtsTour Roster artist.

The Illinois Presenters Network, in collaboration with the Illinois Arts Council Agency, choose artists based on their artistic and technical quality of their work, their professionalism, and the artist’s ability to tour.
