In the later half of the nineteenth century horse racing evolved from a leisure class pursuit to a big entertainment business.

Libertyville followed this trend with the construction of three consecutive race tracks.

Jenny Barry of the Libertyville Historical Society will tell the colorful stories behind these tracks.
