The Chicago Symphony Chorus will combine with Marin Alsop and the CSO to perform Leonard Bernstein’s “Kaddish” Symphony, where women’s voices are the tether to the highest powers, examining the essential, eternal questions of humanity and faith.
The concert is part of Breaking Barriers, a new annual series that celebrates the diverse artists and leaders in the vanguard of classical music today and for future generations. Ravinia Chief Conductor Marin Alsop is curating the three-day inaugural 2022 festival around women on the podium with additional events such as film screenings and symposia.
