Uncovering the Story of the USS Tide at National Museum of the American Sailor

Uncovering the Story of the USS Tide
Guest Speaker: Mark Zangara

Fifty years after the sinking of minesweeper USS Tide off the shores of Utah Beach, historian Mark Zangara tracked down the survivors of the USS Tide to uncover the untold stories of the men who were there. Mr. Zangara is joined virtually by Tide survivor Jim Gardner to recount the sinking and to ceremoniously present the ship’s flag to the museum.
After the presentation, join Mr. Zangara for a book signing of his work, The Fate of the USS Tide: The Forgotten Sailors of D-Day. Book signing is sponsored by the National Museum of the American Sailor Foundation (NMASF). All proceeds go to NMASF for their support of the museum.
This free event will be in-person with appropriate social distancing and precautions in place. NMAS will update the event with new information if/when it becomes available. All plans are subject to change.
