Learn about leaf color changes and how these changes coincide with signals for animal migration and hibernation. Hands-on activities while hiking on the trail.
We will take a walk through the forest preserve to look at the amazing fall colors. Activities will be placed along the trail for children to trace leaves or take bark sketches, as well as roll logs to see who's hiding underneath.
During the walk we will discuss the how and why of leaf color changes and the seasonal changes that affect animals living in the preserve, especially as a signal for migration and hibernation.
