Dr. Slate and the Sponges of Volo Bog

Yes, there really are sponges in Volo Bog! We’re not sure what is more exciting... Little microscopic sponge critters – “What lives on the peat under the bog” (hear the Sponge Bob tune?) – or the young scientists studying them. Come hear of their adventures into Volo Bog (literally) as well as their story of these ancient critters that may reveal a bit of Volo Bog’s history, and speak to its future. Geared to adults and teens ages 16 & up. Registration requested by emailing dnr.volobog@illinois.gov or by phone at 815-344-1294. Tell us your name, email, and phone number.
