Antioch's Annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting

Welcome Santa and the Christmas Season to town at the Old-Fashioned Christmas parade on Friday, November 23rd at 6:30 pm. The Parade is sponsored by the Village of Antioch. The parade takes place on Main Street between Park Avenue and Orchard Street. Traveling North. Santa joins the COmmunity and participates in the parade as the last float which leads everyone to the community tree. Immediately following the Christmas Parade we will hold the Tree Lighting Ceremony in front of the Village Hall. At this ceremony, we are joined by the Antioch Community High School Chorus for some old-fashioned caroling and a visit from Santa himself who comes to spread holiday cheer. The Antioch Fire Department hands out free cookies and hot chocolate. Community officials welcome everyone and then the countdown t the lighting of the official community tree happens. Santa then returns to his enchanted village where you can bring your kids to visit and take pictures. We do accept homemade and store-bought ornaments for the community Christmas tree which should be turned into Village Hall the Monday prior to the lighting ceremony. For any further information please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 847-395-2160 or tgalster@antioch.il.gov
